      Wilmington is a beautiful 250-year-old port city heavily inundated in Colonial, Revolutionary and Southern Heritage History. Your adventure begins in the city’s historic district (one of the largest on the national registry). It is here, you will find a plethora of Georgian and Colonial Buildings and Gardens. The Mitchell-Anderson House (circa 1744), being the oldest. Among the trove of historical treasures you will see is the Latimer House Museum and Gardens. The museum provides the opportunity to walk back in time and experience the lifestyle of the wealthy Victorians. Then, its on to the Cotton Exchange which provides great dining and shopping opportunities. It is located in a structure full of history and ghost lore. The Historic Chandlers Warf and Riverwalk, provide opportunities for unique experiences too. So much history, landmarks and legends to learn about all one day. Wilmington is considered by many experts, to be one of the most haunted cities in the world!
Next on our journey is Popular Grove Plantation (listed on the National Registry and part of the National Gullah Geechee Cultural Heritage Corridor). The tour includes the Manor House Museum Complex (circa 1850), which is comprised of the main house museum, the black smith shop, the tennant houses, the smoke house, the gardens and much more. Your day promises to be full of exposure to a wide range of facts, legends and history concerning this fabulous city, including its growing role in the film industry and growth as a important coastal port.
