The 300+ Year Old Port City of Charleston was once considered the cultural center of the New World. This adventure includes a comprehensive tour of the largest, intact colonial city in North America. You will be escorted through the historic old-walled city area, which includes among many things, the world-famous Battery Waterfront District, the Four Corners of Law, Dock St. Theater, St. Phillips Episcopal Church and much, much more. Next, is a visit through the interior of the Joseph Manigault House, (the first Adam style house in Charleston), which also boasts a lovely period garden and gate house. Following that, you will explore the inside of the Heyward Washington House, built in 1772 by a signer of the Declaration of Independence, and also served as a residence, to George Washington; on his 1791 Southern Tour. Then onto, The Historic City Market Area, which offers a multitude of dining options as well as access to, a large variety of arts and craft vendors, boutiques, and specialty shops. Our trip ends at the Charleston Museum. (America’s 1st and oldest museum), founded in 1773. You will find a museum, filled with a trove of historical artifacts and artworks dating from the Pre-Revolutionary War, to the 21st Century Periods.
